Stress vs Peace

I read this quote a few months back and I honestly can't remember where it came from now, but it was so potent to me that it stuck in my head. Last month (okay 2 months ago but forgive me - February was rough!) I had a quote that said "there can be no happiness if the things we believe in are different from the things we do" (freya stark). I LOVE that this quote follows that up. Because what this quote reminds us is that there is PEACE in being exactly WHO we are, in THIS very moment.

We may be conflicted between the way we wish to act and the way we actually do, but it doesn't help to feel shame over that. Instead, comparing ourselves to our "ideal self" is only meant to show us how we might live better. BUT underneath ALL of that is a deep, loving acceptance of who we are as a person and being completely okay with that.

STRESS is who you THINK you should be - the expectations from others, from ourselves, from people long forgotten that still take up space in your subconscious, the SHOULD do's, the HAVE to do's,.....but PEACE is when you can accept things as they are, and be okay with where you are at in your journey. It's being who you are!

That doesn't mean we can't have goals...we can! That doesn't mean that we can't change...we absolutely can. And it doesn't mean that we think we're perfect as we are, no one is. It's okay to think that you have room to grow while still finding peace in who you are. In fact, I feel that true, lasting change comes from a place of deep acceptance, and a drive to become the best version of yourself. Not a model or copy of someone else - but a better version of YOU. And that starts with finding peace in being you. <3

As always, please feel free to reach out with any questions or thoughts!

In health & happiness,

Cora-Ann =)
